Core Marine Conservation Programme (7+ Days)

Throughout the WildeMarine collaborative programme, you'll work alongside experienced marine biologists, conservationists, and wildlife rehabilitation specialists while contributing to genuine research and conservation initiatives. Activities include:

• African Penguin Rehabilitation – Assist with enclosure cleaning, fish preparation, and feeding sessions while supporting the care of endangered African penguins.

• Shark & Whale Boat Operations – Join research and ecotourism vessels to assist with shark cage diving operations, guest support, wildlife observations, and valuable data collection.

• Marine Research – Contribute to shark egg collection observations, onboard data capture, and other ongoing scientific research projects.

• Beach Clean-ups & Environmental Monitoring – Collect litter, record environmental data, and help protect South Africa’s coastline.

• Fishing Line Recycling Initiative – Assemble, clean, and monitor fishing line bins that help reduce marine wildlife entanglement.

• Community & Environmental Education – Participate in educational presentations and work alongside local students to inspire the next generation of ocean conservationists.

• Expert Conservation Talks – Learn from specialists through presentations covering shark biology and research, African penguins, marine mammals, rocky shore ecology, boat safety, conservation management, and more.

Family Marine Conservation Programme (5 Days)

A unique short-form experience designed for families to share in hands-on marine conservation activities together. This programme offers an inspiring introduction to ocean protection, wildlife rehabilitation, and environmental education, creating meaningful shared experiences while introducing the next generation to conservation in action.

Veterinary & Marine Biology Focus Programme (7 Days)

A specialist, small-group programme designed for participants with a strong interest in marine biology, wildlife health, and conservation medicine. Open to private groups, this experience provides deeper exposure to marine wildlife care, rehabilitation practices, and field-based research operations, offering an advanced perspective on marine conservation work beyond standard participation programmes.

Some of our trips require a minimum number of participants to run. In the unlikely event the minimum isn’t met, we’ll let you know no later than 60 days before departure.
